My favorite part about working for SRP has to be the leadership. When Darrin bought Pugs back from McLane’s, I knew everything was going to be alright. My immediate supervisor for the last 5 plus years Paul has inspired, supported, and mentored my growth with the organization. There is comfort in knowing the people at the wheel are trust worthy! My favorite day did not start out that way. I was running route and one of my stops, I had some serious anxiety, because the store manager was mean, nasty, and from what I could tell didn’t like me or our product. Thanks to Habit 1 (be proactive), I decided to respond to a negative situation positively. I asked the store manager if we could go outside so we could talk. Which he thought was really odd because I had never done that before. I apologized to the store manager for whatever I did to make him upset with me or my product. I also asked him if he wouldn’t talk to me in a profane angry way. From that day forward he was my best friend and I had to practice habit 5 ( seek first to understand then to be understood). It made me realize I could change people’s paradigm towards me. The one thing I can say about SRP companies that I didn’t see or have seen in other organization is the culture Darrin is cultivating through 7 habits, Speed of Trust, and 4DX. It has helped me not only with my position with SRP, but also in my personal life!
